This October, past meets present as darkness falls upon the Main Library’s auditorium. Cinephiles, music fans, and fright-seekers will enjoy this unique film series featuring free screenings of classic horror films from the silent era. In true silent film tradition each film will be accompanied by an original score written and performed live by local musicians.

Oct 13: Nosferatu
F.W. Murnau’s 1922 vampire film, accompanied by music from David Payne.

Oct 20: The Unknown
From 1927, this influential thriller from Tod Browning will be accompanied by Jason Rabb and Nick Foster of It Foot, It Ears.

Fri, Oct 27, 7pm: Häxan
A Swedish-Danish examination of witchcraft and hysteria from 1922. Shown with music by Jesse Quebbeman-Turley. (Film contains brief nudity).

Films are not rated but might be too scary for younger viewers.
