CUAC, a non-profit contemporary art organization operating in downtown Salt Lake City, combines forces with The City Library to offer unique, free art workshops for preschoolers (ages 3–5) and elementary school students (ages 5+). Each week will present a new experience and new information, and participants are encouraged to attend as many or as few sessions as their schedule allows—no registration necessary.
In April, the workshops will focus on the theme of Our Natural Body and Its Daily Life. In order for young artists to develop their work, they must conduct research, not only about their surroundings and technique, but also learning about themselves and the human body. This month, kids will explore anatomy, nutrition, and the human mind, all in order to give the artist a better relationship with and understanding of their own complex body.
The art workshop for preschoolers begins at 10am each Tuesday, the workshop for elementary school ages starts at 4pm.
The CUAC Art Workshop on Tuesdays at the Main Library will run in tandem with mirroring workshops offered at Day-Riverside Branch each Thursday at 10am (for preschoolers, ages 3–5).
